Scott, Vernon H., age 50, a life long Medfield area resident, died after a long illness on Saturday night, August 18, 2007, at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick.
Born in Norwood on September 17, 1956, he was the son of Elizabeth R. (Daley) Scott Hinkley and the late Hugh M. Scott. He attended the Medfield public schools and Massachusetts Bay Community College.
Mr. Scott was an Emergency Medical Technician and had been employed with the town of Needham at the time of his illness. He had previously worked as an EMT with Millis and Medfield and had worked in Boston as a phlebotomist. Mr. Scott greatly enjoyed listening to music.
He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth and George Hinkley of Medfield, a daughter, Audra Lynn Scott of Medfield, a son, Jarred Hugh Scott of Medfield, two sisters, Kay Waller and husband Herman of Newport Richy, FL, and Cheryl E.L. Beal and husband Donald of Walpole, a brother, George W. Hinkley, IV, of Medfield, nieces Valerie and Brandi, nephews Donald and David, grandnieces Lainey, Julia and Jillian, and a grandnephew, Marcus. He is also survived by his former wife, Elizabeth.
His service will be held at the Roberts Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, Wednesday, August 22nd at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery.
