Mrs. Margaret B. Griffiths, 68, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Enid Baxter, late Saturday afternoon after an illness of several months of heart trouble. She was born April 20, 1866, at Circleville, a daughter of James T.S. and Eliza Mainwaring Allred. The mother died when Mrs. Griffiths was six hours old and buried the same day due to Indian troubles. The eldest sister, Mrs. Eliza Monson, took the baby and reared her. She was married February 14, 1884, to Hans Peter Nielsen, who died June 6, 1899. In 1901, she attended the obstetric nursing school under the instruction of Dr. Margaret Roberts and had been engaged in nursing 30 years. In October, 1901, she was married to Joseph W. Griffiths, now deceased. She had been active and faithful in the L.D.S. church, acting as a Relief society teacher for many years, living in Circleville, Ephraim, Spring City, Chester, Union and McCormic. She is survived by her foster mother, Mrs. Eliza Monson, 86. Bountiful and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Carrie Clark, Mrs. Junetta Heyborne, Delta; Mrs. Enid Baxter, Spring City; Arnold Nielsen, Los Angeles, Calif., Alton Nielsen, Santa Monica, Calif, and Rex Griffiths, Provo; 25 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth D. Allred, 82; Mrs. Lovina Robinson, 71; Edward F. Allred, 77; Brigham Y. Allred, 72, Spring City; Mrs. Malinda Griffiths, 73 and Kimball Allred, 66, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held in the ward chapel Tuesday at 2pm, with internment in the City cemetery. The Salt Lake Tribune, Aug. 6, 1934.
