Senior Master Sgt. Mike Mixon, age 67, of Sulligent, AL passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic Rites following in the Chapel. Burial to follow funeral services in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Bro. Scott Stokes and Steve Wolfe to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Masons to serve as Pallbearers.
Mike was born on April 8, 1953 in Sulligent, AL to the late Jerry Thomas Mixon and the late Julia Dean Roden. He was a 1971 graduate of Sulligent High School. Mike retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years and also retired from First State Bank. He was an exceptional athlete at Sulligent High School. Mike enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family, and attending Rattlesnake Roundup in Texas. He also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Alabama fan and New Orleans Saints fan.
