Funeral Set Today For D.B.Howell Sr. Services for D. B. (Dink) Howell Sr., 69, retired employee of The NASHVILLE, TENNESSEAN, will be at 10 a.m. today at Woodbine Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Hembree of Woodbine Methodist Church will officiate. Howell died Monday after suffering a stroke. Howell started work in THE TENNESSEAN composing room about 40 years ago. He served as advertising skippers (foreman) for the night composing room for 25 years, retiring in 1967. Known as "Dink" by his fellow employes, he was an active member of the Typographical Union Local 20 for 50 years. He also served on the NPC Credit Union Board for several years, and was a member of the Woodbine Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mattie Pearl Sweeny Howell; a daughter, Mrs. Carl M. Barnes; and a son, D. B. Howell Jr., all of Nashville; and four grandchildren.
