Edward H. Gregory, Sr. of Monticello, a retired water plant operator of the Village of Monticello and a lifelong resident of the area, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, a Mercy Manor in Port Jervis. He was 79.

The son of William and Mary Klecka Gregory, he was born July 9, 1919 in New York City.

He was past Chief of the Monticello Fire Dept.; a member of the First Church of Monticello, Presbyterian and the Monticello Grange.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Kinne Gregory of Mercy Manor; two sons, David Gregory of Monticello and Edward Gregory, Jr. of North Weymouth, Mass.; two brothers, William Gregory and Richard Gregory, both of Monticello; one sister, Florence Armstrong of Monticello; several nieces and nephews.

A Firematic Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Van Inwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, Monticello.

Funeral services will be Jan. 23 at the funeral home, Rev. David Van Donkelaar officiating. Burial will be in Rock Ridge Cemetery, Monticello.
