Passed away Friday at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis from complications of a recent stroke.

Daughter of Frank and June Wann Nowling.
Married Gerald Eugene McDowell November 26, 1953 in Universal. He passed away December 1, 2009.
Survivors include daughter Suzanne (Patrick) Gill; brothers John, Ken and Karl Nowling; grandchildren Brandon and Kendall Gill; sisters-in-law Mary Ruth and Karen Nowling, and Myrt McDowell; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers Art, Joe (Joan), and Don Nowling, brothers-in-law Joe and Jimmy (June) McDowell, and sister-in-law Betty McDowell.

Graduate of Mecca High School.

She was a telephone operator with 31 years of service with Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Rockville, Clinton and Crawfordsville and was later employed by Indiana State University as a switchboard operator.

Memberships included Mecca Christian Church, Mecca Historical Society and Telephone Pioneers of America.

Private family services 11am Wednesday, October 14 at Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville with the Rev. Tim Guoli officiating.
Entombment at Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute.
Private family visitation 10:30am until time of service.

Memorial donations to Mecca Christian Church, Mecca, IN.
