WALDO — On October 5, 2020 Tina J. Bowden, 64, and Richard E. Bowden Jr., 64, of Waldo, Maine went to be with the Lord.

Tina was born October 14, 1955 in Belfast, the daughter of David and Dianne Brown, and her stepfather Cecil Armstrong.

Richard was born on November 16, 1955 in Bar Harbor, the son of Richard Sr. and Janet Bowden.

Richard and Tina will be celebrating 40 years of marriage on February 14, 2021 with their heavenly father. Thank you for setting the example of true love and commitment to God, family, friends and each other. This will forever be a legacy for your grandchildren, who love you so much.

At their request a graveside service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 1p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery at 95 Lebanon Road, Winterport 04496.

Go rest high on that mountain! I love you both so much. I know I will see you both again. ~Diahanne

WALDO, Maine — State Police arrested and charged a 66-year-old Benton man Monday with murder in connection to the deaths of his sister and her husband.

Glenn Brown is charged with the murder of 64-year-old Tina Bowden and her husband, 64-year-old Richard Bowden. The State Medical Examiner’s office said the Bowden’s died from gunshot wounds.

Glenn Brown walked into the Belfast Police Department to report the shooting. The Belfast Police Department and the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Bowden’s home on Bonne Terre Road in Waldo. Medical personnel arrived at the residence and transported Richard Bowden to Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast where he died, police said. Tina Bowden was found deceased at the residence.

Brown was taken to the Waldo County Jail.

State police detectives and evidence response team members worked through the evening at the Bowden’s residence and conducted interviews. Detectives will continue this work throughout the week.

Brown will make his first appearance in Waldo County Superior court tomorrow, October 7, at 12:45 p.m.
