Ronald Eugene Black Jr, 59, of Pontiac, died at 3:01 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at OSF St Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at South Side Cemetery, Pontiac, with the Pastor Joel Paine officiating at 1:00 pm. There will be no visitation. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac is handling the arrangements.

Ronald was born Feb 5, 1961, at Pontiac, a son of Ronald and Glenda (Durham) Black Sr. Ronnie is survived by his mother: Glenda Black of Pontiac; his step-mother: Ann Black; one brother: William “Bill” Black of Pontiac; three aunts: Frances Eskrew of San Diego, CA; Pamela (Barry) Kaisner of Forrest; and Pamela (Rick) Hamilton of Ft. Worth, TX; five nephews: Aaron Smith, Nathan (Ashleigh) Smith, William Black, Anthony Black and Brandon Smith; one niece: Amanda (Ben Roe) Black; two great-nieces: Willow and River Roe who absolutely adored their great Uncle Ron; two special cousins: Matthew Baker and Laura Kovach; and many other cousins.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father: Ronald E. Black Sr.; his brother: Leslie J. Black; maternal grandparents: Glen and Syble Durham; and paternal grandparents: Howard and Estelle Black.

Ronnie could light up a room when he entered it. To know him, was to love him. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He loved music and enjoyed concerts. Ronnie was very proud to be 26 years sober this year, an amazing achievement. He was one of God’s special children who called him home early. Ronnie was blessed with family and many friends who loved and cared for him. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
