Scroggins
Services for Loree Scroggins, 86, of the Conoley community will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Swoyer of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Thorndale officiating. Burial will be in Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor.
Mrs. Scroggins died Sunday, Aug. 24, at her home in the Conoley community near Thorndale.
A Thorndale area resident all of her life, she was born Nov. 1, 1921, in the Conoley community to Ibra Paskal and Mellie Lou (George) Guthrie.
She married W.F. Scroggins on Aug. 15, 1938, in Taylor.
Mrs. Scroggins was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 18, 1991; and a daughter, Eula Marie Scroggins, on June 26, 1945.
Survivors are a son, Bobby Scroggins and wife Barbara of Thorndale; two grandchildren, Wynona Jean Schwarz and husband Mike, Rhonda Lynn Brown and husband Doug; four great-grandchildren, Megan Lei Schwarz, Dylan Michael Schwarz, Kassie Lynn Barron and Mallory Dawn Barron; and two stepsisters, Mary Jean Spadden and husband LeeRoy of Leander, Bobbie Rhymer and husband Billy of Bruceville-Eddy.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Schwarz, Mike Schwarz, Doug Brown, Tommy Welch, Don Guthrie, Wink Guthrie and Ray Biehle.
Memorials may be made to Scott & White Hospice, 2401 S. 31st St., Temple, TX 76508; or St. Johns Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 21, Thorndale, TX 76577; or to the charity of choice.
