John was a member of First Assembly of God, Gastonia. He worked for Pepsi Cola for 30 years and also for Spencer Pettus as a machinist for 30 years.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Dalrymple; sons, Mark Dalrymple and Mike Dalrymple; brother, Ledrew Dalrymple; and sisters, Paralee Johnson, Gertrude Dalrymple; and Pauline Reel.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Bolick; grandchildren, John-Michael Dalrymple and wife, Starla and Brandon Dalrymple; and great-grandchildren, Harlie Dalrymple and Samantha Dalrymple.
