Funeral services for John David Butler, age 79, of Roanoke, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kevin Buttrum officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Butler died on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Lafayette Nursing Home.

Survivors include his sister, Ruth Mitchum; nieces, Sandra Watson, Donna Holden, Rebecca Denham, Crystal Hand, Betty Ford, and Cindy Tittle; grandchildren, Logan Watson (Allison), JohnWayne Watson, and Michael Denham and great-grandchildren, Wyatt Watson and Reece Watson.

Pallbearers will be Logan Watson, JohnWayne Watson, Wayne Ford, and Michael Denham.

Honorary Pallbearers are Josh Denham, James Hand, and Doug Hill.

A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mr. Butler was born October 7, 1940, the son of Hershell Davis Butler and Ella Louise Cannon Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Jean Hill and Glenda Clark.
