Services for Daniel G. Grant, 31, a classical guitarist who performed here and in Palm Springs as half of the Orion Duo, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Clairemont Mortuary. Cremation was planned, with ashes to be privately inurned. He died Monday in Warner Springs. Mr. Grant, a native San Diegan and a Birdland resident, graduated from Kearny High School, received an associate of arts degree in music from Mesa College and attended San Diego State University for three years. His musical achievement s include two albums, "The Orion Duo Performs" and "Works by the Orion Quartet." He was a member of Musicians Local 325.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, Knaks and Doris Grant of San Diego; three brothers ; and a sister. The family suggested donations to the American Heart Association.
