He was born to Willard Lee Pugh Sr. (RHS-1938) &
Lera Nell Hager (RHS-1938) Pugh on Oct. 30, 1941,
in Ranger, TX. After graduating from Ranger High
School in the Class of 1959, he completed barber
college and worked in that field until joining the
U.S. Navy in 1963. He served as an electronics
technician until retiring from the Navy as a Chief
Petty Officer in 1984. He continued working in
electronics as a civilian until his final retirement.
He married Diana Lea (Holland) Chovan of San
Diego, CA, in 1970.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents and
his daughter Kimberlea. He is survived by his wife
of 50 years, Diana; stepson Dan Chovan, San Diego;
sister Mary Pugh Walton (RHS-1958) & husband Hal
of Ranger; sister Shirley Pugh Walton (RHS-1961)
and husband Tom of Lubbock; sister Barbara Perry
& husband James of Lubbock; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
He was a member of American Legion Post 575 in
Lubbock. He will be laid to rest in the Texas
Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, TX.
