LERA NELL HAGAR PUGH, 81, of Ranger, passed away on Sunday at an Eastland care facility. Burial was in Merriman Cemetery in Ranger, Texas. Mrs. Pugh was born on September 16, 1920 in the Mangum Community in Eastland County to John C. and Bertha Mae (Bender) Hagar. She grew up in Eastland County and attended school there. She married Willard Lee Pugh on May 20, 1939 in Fredrick Oklahoma. Mr. And Mrs. Pugh lived in numerous towns following the oilfield, including Denver City where she worked in the dietary department of Yoakum County Hospital for over 20 years. They also lived in Albany, Aspermont and Lovington, New Mexico, always returning back to Ranger and Eastland County. Mrs. Pugh was a member of the Mesquite and Rusk St. Church of Christ. At the time of her death, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Willard Lee Pugh of Ranger; daughters, Mary Walton of Ranger, Shirley Walton of Amarillo and Barbara Perry of Lubbock; son, Willard L. Pugh Jr. of Santee, California; brother, Bonnie Hagar of Phoenix, AZ; and sister, Neva Trotter of Phoenix, AZ; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
