- William Pew was one of the earliest settlers in this vicinity; he buys, 1733, of Thomas Schooley, 136 acres between Pleasant Grove & Stephensburg; his will dated Roxbury 7 Sept, probate 24 Sept 1773 names children Samuel, Thomas, Mary, Hannah, Abigail and grandson William. See attached.

Children of William and Abigail Case Pew:
1. William, Jr. 1728-1769
- died before father in the French Indian War

2. Samuel, 1730-1813
He married Mary South (daughter of Daniel and Mary South). When the American Revolution broke out in 1776, Samuel Pew was loyal to the British cause and in December 1776 joined the royal standard. In 1787, Pew brought his wife and five children to the Niagara area of Upper Canada (Ontario) and settled on a Government grant in Stamford Township, now known as the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

- married Samuel Coleman
