Funeral services for Manuel Klanderud, 82, longtime area resident, and farmer were held here. He died last Friday at the Elms Nursing home in Ponca, Dixon Co. NE
Mr. Klanderud was born December 2, 1875, in Norway and was married to Arna Haug of Norway in Sioux Falls December 28, 1904.
They lived for a time in Sioux City and in 1907 moved to the Obert Vicinity where they farmed until 1948 when he retired.
Survivors include two sons, Otto and Henry, both of Wynot, Neb, three daughters, Mrs. C. K. Bottolfsen and Mrs. Martin Bottolfsen both of Hartington and Mrs Rachel Miller of Sunnyslope, Ariz, and 21 grandchildren.
Manuel worked a while in the Black Hills SD gold mines before his marriage.
In 1903-1904 time period Manuel was farming in the Lester S.D. area.
