Born July 18, 1914 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Rev. John David Mauney, Sr. and Bessie Miller Frantz Mauney. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Cherryville and a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College. Miss Mauney managed the Nancy Hunter China Shop in Asheville along with her sisters Margaret.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Dr. J. Luther Mauney and three sisters, Dorothy Mauney Brown, Elizabeth Mauney Blythe and Margaret Louise Mauney.
Miss Mauney is survived by two brothers, Rev. Dr. John D. Mauney, Jr. of Hillsborough, NC and Rev. Dr. Marhsall F. Mauney of Norfolk, VA; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
