Willie Jonas Lee
May 21, 1930 - September 23, 2020

Willie Jonas Lee was born on May 21, 1930, in Statesboro, Georgia to the late Dewey and Mamie Lee. He was the sixth born of 10 children. Willie Lee, or WJ as known to many who attended Willow Hill School in Portal, GA, accepted Christ at an early age. He left Statesboro, GA, and moved to Fort Pierce, FL where he met and married Verie O’Neal. To this union, two loving children were born: Tony and Chenita.

He lived in Miami, Florida for 10 years and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He eventually relocated back to Fort Pierce, FL, where he dedicated many years as a truck driver and taxi driver before retiring and opening his own tire shop. Willie was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Cooking was his specialty and he loved to entertain his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the holidays and family reunions.

Willie was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church where he attended until he became ill. On September 23, 2020 God called home his soldier, and Willie transitioned from King earth to glory. He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Mamie Lee; sisters, Zallaree McNatt, Alice Lee Jones, Larus Lee, Hazel Lee Lovett, Mae Pearl McCarty, and Valleen Reeves; brother, Harvey Lee, Sr.; and daughter Cynthia Lewis.

Willie Lee leaves to cherish his memories two children: Tony Lee (Mattie) and Chenita Lee; grandchildren’s, Shakeara Blackwood, Siera Lee, Brittany Andrews, Jasmen Lee, La’Tasia Lee, Kiana Lee, Taliyah Polk (Vinson), and Tariq Reeves; greatgrandchildren: Alicia Brown, Ricniecia Wallace, Khamari Brown, Christopher Harris, Serenity Adams, Trenton Polk, Kai Polk, Karter Polk, Bri’niyah Ward, and Chardessia Furguson, Mamie Davis; Goddaughter Sarah Lee Robinson; sister, Bernice Eliga; sister-in-law, Imogene Lee. and a host of nieces, special niece nephews, family, and friends
