Mickey James, 53 of Baxter died Monday, September 28, 2020 from injuries sustained in a car accident in DeKalb County. He was born May 1, 1967 to the late Clifton Royce and Ruby Jean Johnson James.

He was a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed working on vehicles, loved life and spending time with family and friends. He attended Dillard's Creek Community Church.

Survivors include wife of 21 years (Married August 7, 1999 in Silver Point) Halonna "Holly" Degroat James, son Shay Becraft both of Baxter, sisters Susie (Glenn) Dyer of Silver Point and Vicki (Bennie) Fields of Chestnut Mound, brothers Roger Dale (Pat) James and Larry Wayne James all of Silver Point, Lloyd Lee James and Timmy (Janice) James all of Cookeville and Frankie James of Elmwood, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends Megan Cook and James Green.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Magdalene James, brothers Milas "Mouse" James and Eddie Ray James.

Funeral services were Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Prophet Jerry Wallace and Dr. Joe Wiles officiating. Interment followed in Maynard Cemetery in the Cherry Hill Community of DeKalb County.
