Rev. Stephen James Brooks, 41 passed from this life on September 22, 2020 in Stuart, Florida.

Stephen loved life, loved people, and was passionate about serving Jesus.

Stephen graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1997 and was a part of the Marching Band for 3 years. He was a member of Spirit Life Church of God, Fort Pierce, and was a lead pastor of 3 Church of God Churches in Florida. Stephen was first credentialed on April 3, 2002, as an exhorter and received his ordination in 2005 with the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee.

Steve enjoyed and excelled in preaching the gospel of His Lord and also truly enjoyed playing the drums for the Lord. He loved to blare his music and also was very creative in computer graphics and design.

He will live on inside of the hearts of his wife, Crystal Brooks of Stuart, FL, (she had him from "hello"); his incredible son, Gavin James and his daughter “butterfly”, Bailey Rae; parents, Rev. Joe S. and Lorna Brooks of Cross City, FL; brother, Timothy Allen (Amy) Brooks; nephews, Brody and Gunner; niece, Skylar; mother and father-in-law, Billy Rae Butler and Cresendo of Palm City, FL; brother-in-law, Billy Butler; niece, Angelina Butler. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Lewis, Jr. and Ruby & Arnold Brooks of Fort Pierce, FL.

He will be greatly missed by Tim who loved Steve being his "big" brother.

Stephen's Parents Joe Stephen and Lorna Brooks were so very proud of Him and will remember him every day.

Stephen Loved his parents his dad was his Hero and his mom was his backbone.

Stephen’s Brother-in-law Billy will miss him terribly, Steve stepped up many times to help with different situations that life brought.

Stephen was an amazing son-in-law to Billy and Cresendo; who they counted on him for a lot of things, if they called he went without hesitation.

Stephen loved his nieces and nephews and loved giving each of them a hard time.

After serving several churches as a lead pastor, Stephen and Crystal were excited to be working with Pastor Howard Riley and serving the Spirit Life Church of God.

The Family will receive friends from 11-12 on October 1, 2020, at the Spirit Life Church of God, Ft Pierce with a celebration service of Steve's life at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
