Seth served Aug 1776, as a volunteer in American Revolution, under Capt Seifer of Cumberland County. He also served at various times, as a wagoneer, delivering goods and clothing to the Army, in lower parts of Virginia and various areas of Pennsylvania.
After his death in July, 1852 his son Samuel, filed for his pension benefits and the application was later rejected. Simply stated on rejection document;, exclusive of his service as teamster, he was on duty but four months. His case was No. 10,546, signed by Sevin Belt, examining clerk. Seth and his wife Margaret, are both buried in the Historic Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery, today known as Christ Lutheran Stone Church Cemetery. It is one of the oldest in country and once settled as Washington County by Scottish Irish Presbyterians. History of Lycoming County, by J.F. Meginness, 1892. He is buried on the southwest side of Penny Hill, which overlooks Buffalo Valley.
