Son of Philip Ammerman (migrated from near Hagerstown, Maryland, between 1795-1797; died in Bourbon County, Kentucky 1817/1818; served as private for six months in 1813 with Capt. William Sebree's Company of Infantry of the Kentucky Militia, detached, commanded by Ltd.Col. William E. Boswell) and Mary Frances Hibler. Brother of:
