Funeral services for Richard Roy Rodgers, 80, of Angleton will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Palms Funeral Home with Chris Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Palms Funeral Home.

Richard was born August 23, 1940 and passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 in Houston. Richard retired from the U.S. Air Force. He also retired from Alvin ISD. He taught Social Studies and the History of Religion.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Leona Davidson Rodgers and Henry “Rodger” Rodgers, infant sister, Carrie, sister Sherry Foster, brothers, Henry Roland Rodgers, David Chapman and Kerry Chapman. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Betty Rodgers, children, Wayne Rodgers, Teri Rodgers, Wendi Broberg and husband, Jack all of Angleton, brother, Daniel, sisters, Barbara and Kelly all of California, grandchildren, Jonathan Flowerree, Jessica Flowerree, Lars Broberg, Shaye Rodgers, Kyle Rodgers and great grandchild Keira Flowerree.

Pallbearers will be Jack Broberg, Wayne Rodgers, Jonathan Flowerree, Lars Broberg and Kyle Rodgers.

Honorary pallbearer will be Gerald Roberts.
