David Bryant was the son of David and Sarah "Sallie" (Grider) Bryant. He married Florinda Alice Curry.

They had at least twelve children*: Minnie (October 1879), Unknown (probably early 1880s), Viola (June 1885), Lucian (March 1889), Ella (August 1890), Elizabeth (August 1892), Unknown Male (October 1893), Nona (Oct 1894), Vernon (March 1896), Virgil (March 1898), Rinda (March 1899) and Sallie (May 1904).

* The 1900 census indicated they had 11 children, but only 9 living. With Sallie being born in 1904, that made at least 12. I believe Sallie was the last child born, but have no proof there were not others as birth records were not kept well until 1911. His obituary indicates there were 13 children.

A news article from the May 6, 1914 Adair County News which discussed his parents and siblings:

Long Life Family

Mr. David Bryant, who lives in the White Oak section [of Adair County], was in Columbia a few days ago and gave us the following concerning the history of the family from which he sprang: He is a son of David Bryant, deceased, who was the father of nine sons and two daughters by the first and only wife. They were all born and reared in Adair county, all of the nine sons are living at this time, and all of them are living in the county but two, who reside in Taylor county. They are all in reasonably good health, and their ages range from 58 to 80 years old. One of the daughters died some years ago. The other one is enjoying good health.

This last article would be easy to confuse with the younger David's family as he also had a great number of children. However, he was being asked about his brothers and sisters. Two siblings were actually dead by 1914 with the most recent, Sallie, having died in 1911. There was apparently an infant who died and was not included in these remarks.
