Mrs. James T. Eldredge, mother of Mrs. Franklin Q. Brown, of Dobbs Ferry, died at her residence, 199 Beacon Street, Boston, Friday evening, June 6th.
Mrs. Eldredge was the widow of the late James T. Eldredge, one of Boston's large real estate owners, and daughter of the late John Davis Weld and Ellen Bigelow Williams, whose country seat "Elm Hill" at Roxbury was one of the noted landmarks of Boston.
Mrs. Eldredge was a lady of great cultivation and keen intelligence, devoting much time to the study of music and art.
Of late years until illness overtook her, she had spent much time in travel in this country and the old world.
She leaves a family, two sons, Arthur Stuart Eldredge of Lincoln, Mass., Col. E.H. Eldredge of Boston and four daughters, Mme. Prudon of Geneva, Switzerland, Mrs. Franklin Q. Brown of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., Mrs. H. Hooper Lawrence and Miss Eldredge, both of Boston. Dobbs Ferry Register June 1913
