With the most radiant smile, Pam's presence would light up the room as she gave every piece of herself to care for others, regardless of whether they were family. When it came to those she loved, she was always on the front row as their biggest fan and the quickest to ensure that everyone had been fed. Speaking of food, the holidays were very special to Pam as she showed her love by guaranteeing each person attending had their favorite dish on the menu. She was an exceptional cook.

When her children were younger, Pam dedicated her time to supporting their development, but in recent years, she assumed the role as the primary caregiver for her mother and uncle. Uniquely, regardless of the situation, Pam would fiercely love, quickly forgive, and always show grace.

Pam was preceded in death by Wesley and Geneva McGill (maternal grandparents), Clifford and Lunettia Matthews (paternal grandparents), and Lon Matthews (father).

Survivors include her mother Anna Faye Matthews, uncle Leon McGill, son Casey Carr (Abby), daughter Sarah Carr (Tevin), granddaughter Christine, son Joshua Carr, sister Patricia Muñasque (Luis), niece Angela (Jarryd), nephews Don Luis, Seth, and Lucas (Carla) and great-nieces Carolyn and Chloe.

Pam was a member of First Baptist Church Sevierville, and a dedicated employee of the City of Sevierville for 20 years. Pam loved traveling, horticulture, animals, and reading. She and her sister served on the Pigeon Forge football little league board for 13 years together. She was known to not only cheer and support her own kids, but kids that had no one else there for them as well. "She was that person."
Most important, she enjoyed spending time with those that she loved. She will be dearly missed but the memories of her will be cherished forever.

All services will be private, but flowers can be delivered to Mountain View Baptist Church.

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (AP) —
A Tennessee man has pleaded not guilty to fatally stabbing his mother at least 70 times.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that an attorney for Joshua Matthew Carr entered the plea Friday in Sevier County General Sessions Court. Carr, 30, has been charged with first-degree murder in the Sept. 2 death of his mother, Pamela Renee Carr, 56. He is also charged with aggravated assault in the slashing of his grandmother, Anna Faye Matthews.

Carr was arrested in Michigan two days after the stabbings and was sent to Tennessee to face the charges.
Prosecutor Ron Newcomb has filed a motion asking a judge to hold Carr without bond.
In the motion, Newcomb said Pamela Carr was stabbed "at least 70 times" in the attack. A judge set a hearing Wednesday on the motion, which Carr's lawyers are contesting.
An arrest warrant said Matthews found Carr stabbing his mother in her bedroom. Carr swiped at Matthews with the knife, cutting her on her left forearm and left middle finger, police warrants said.
He then grabbed Matthews and forced her back into her bedroom, police said. Carr returned to his mother's bedroom and continued to attack his mother, a warrant said.
