JONES, Eula Virginia, died in Richmond, on September 15, 2020, after a long illness. She was born in Freeman (Brunswick County), Virginia, on January 8, 1944, to the late Howard Alphonso Jones Sr. and Ida Jones Jones. In 1963, she graduated from James Solomon Russell High School of Lawrenceville. She graduated from the former Saint Paul's College of Lawrenceville in 1967 and she received her master's degree from Virginia State University of Petersburg in 1977. During her more than 35 years as an educator, she served as an English teacher at the former Southside High School of Dinwiddie, a reading specialist at Mosby and Boushall Middle Schools of Richmond and an adjunct instructor at J. Sargeant Reynolds and John Tyler Community Colleges. She and Dr. Valerie Foxx Harris co-authored Keep America Literate. She was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church of Glen Allen and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her sister, Ella J. Richardson; and two brothers, Howard A. Jones Jr. and Melvin P. Jones Sr. preceded her in death. She is survived by six brothers, Earl Lee (Roberta), Milton Ray (Barbara) and Dr. Stanley Poindexter Jones, all of Richmond, Dr. Lloyd Conway (Portia) Jones of Glen Allen, Roy Parnell Jones of Sandston and Marvin Curtis (Justine) Jones Sr. of Mechanicsville; sisters-in law, Lorraine C. Jones of Richmond and Mary B. Jones of Teaneck, N.J.; an aunt, Bessie J. Jones of Suffolk; eight nieces, six nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at March Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m. The Rev. Darryl Thompson will deliver the eulogy. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.
