John E. Kiple and Wife, Who Seek Custody of Two Babes, Are Inspired by Humanitarian Motives.
John E. Kiple, 2465 North Avers avenue, a buyer in a downtown department store, and his wife, Mrs. Albertha Kiple, yesterday filed a petition in the County court to adopt an infant boy and girl. They have adopted three other children, two of whom are living.
Mrs. Kiple says she and her husband are actuated by humanitarian motives in adopting the children.
"A year ago we adopted twins, a boy and a girl, but the little girl died and we adopted another to take her place," said Mrs. Kiple. "Then I felt that I would like more children and we decided to adopt these two. They are of about equal age and they shall never want for anything as long as we are able to do anything for them."

Mrs. Kiple had two foster children living with her in 1910: Theodora, age 3 and Edward, 2. They are both listed as females, and both have the Kiple surname. Albertha was already divorced by then.
She bequeathed her estate and four living adopted children to Mrs. Hilda Riley. The children: M. Evelyn E. Kiple, Theodora Elizabeth C. Kiple, John E. R. Kiple and Walter A. L. Kiple. Mrs. Riley died in 1925.
