Alton Thorson, 90, Edinburg, ND, died Friday, May 4, 2001, in First Care Health Center, Park River, ND.

Alton Thorson was born June 13, 1910, the son of Edward and Gudbjor (Holth) Thorson, in Tiber Township, Walsh County, ND where he attended school. He graduated from high school in Grand Forks, ND. He worked on the family farm and as a lineman and treasurer of the Edinburg-Tiber Telephone Co. He married Hazel Myrvik on June 16, 1951. They farmed until 1990. They moved to the Edmore Rest Home in December 1999.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Rebecca (Marvin) Thurn, Garnerville, NY; a son Lowell (Linda) Thorson, Edinburg, ND; two grandsons; and a sister, Carol (Harold) Schwartz, Richfield, MN.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Clarice Erickson, Alva Carlson, Wilma Thorson, and a brother, Edroy Thorson.

Services: Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Edinburg.
