OBITUARY: Sheridan News Friday Dec. 4, 1914 "DIED IN HIS 76th YEAR. A. J. Dean died at his home on the corner of Georgia and Third streets in Sheridan Thursday night shortly before midnight at the age of 76. He had been in declining health for the past two or three years, several months of which he had been confirmed to his home. He was buried Sunday at the Spencer cemetery, the funeral services being conducted at the residence by W. D. Bartle of Indianapolis. Four children, T. J. Dean, Ellis Dean, Miss Mary and Mrs. W. A. Scott, all of Sheridan, survive."
