Tom Jackson, 84, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born May 23, 1923, in Newport, Ark., to Henry and Leona (Jackson) Jackson. He married Lucille McDonald in Peoria, Ill., on July 16, 1968. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Henry (Christine), Louis and Thomas all of Peoria and Jimmy of Chicago; one daughter, Delores (Charles) Groves of Peoria; and two sisters, Luvenia Chatman of Cleveland, Ohio, and Ruell Cone of Old Hickory, Tenn.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Luella Lacy; and one brother, Robert Lee Freeman.

Tom was an avid fisherman as well as a U.S. Army veteran, where he served as a military policeman.

He worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a laborer, retiring in July of 1983.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
