My Papaw divorced my Grandmother and married another woman before I was born. As a result of that, I didn;t see him much until about 5 years before he died. But I treasure those few years.
When I was little boy, we'd go see him at the service station where he worked. Then, after he retired, we'd see him at his house.
I remember he always had a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie for my brother and me when we'd come visit.
He loved to hunt, and he loved going to Cracker Barrel to eat with us and my Uncle. He loved going up to LBL to be around where he grew up (the picnic area by Jenny Ridge is right where his house was). He loved Cardinals baseball. And soap operas, which I always thought was funny, heheh.
I remember one day we went up to the Wildlife Preserve in LBL to see the elk and buffalo. He enjoyed it.
He died from complications from a stroke.
