He was born August 30, 1944 in Buffalo, New York son of the late Leslie and Florence (Fronckowiak) Montgomery. He was a fireman exempt and President and Secretary of the Benevolent Association of the Arcade Fire Department. He was also the past chief of the Arcade Fire Department and had held all positions at one time or another. He had also served as a Councilman on the Town Board for the Town of Sardinia. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and golfing.
He was a pool builder and had worked at Glamour Pools in Clarence. He was also the superintendent and foreman at Beauty Pools in West Seneca and Rizzo Pools in Connecticut for years.
Monty is survived by his wife, Kay (Holmes) Montgomery, whom he married on November 6, 1965 in Arcade; his children, Jef (Teresa) Faust of Arcade, Michael (Kimberly) Montgomery of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Patrick (Meredith) Montgomery of Brandon, Mississippi and Kim (Bryon Troyer) Fisher of Akron, New York; his siblings, Dolores (late Elwin) Warner of Boston, New York, Marianne (late Edward) Wesley of Rochester, James (Bernadette) Montgomery of Holland, Nancy Williams of San Jose, California, twin sister, Donna (late Robert) Levy of Sloan and Susan (Charles) Porter of Niagara Falls; his brother-in-law, Ollie Moustepha; also survived by 10 grandchildren, Vanessa, Kendra, Tyler, Jackson, Emily, Kaylee, Dylan, Jakob, Hannah and Ethan; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Natalie and Dakota; along with several nieces; nephews and dear family friends, Greg and Traci Hopkins and Brody and Bailei Hopkins of Chaffee.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kristi Kay Montgomery; and his sister, Kathleen Moustepha.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, from 3-7 PM, at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home 358 Main Street in Arcade. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Interment will be held in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery, Arcade.
