Mary I. “Toni” Gobble, who was the oldest resident in Dorchester, IL, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:05 pm at her residence. Mary was 93 years old and was born on April 17, 1918, in Staunton, IL.

She was married to Arthur Gobble on July 3, 1936, Dorchester, IL. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1986. Mary worked in 1943 in the war plant as a crane operator in Granite City, IL, then in a Post Office and then Heyen Implement. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and family and loved to travel the country.

Mary is survived by daughters: Judy (Bob) Oller of Collinsville, IL, Linda (Randy) Majzel of New Athens, IL, sons: Dick (Ruth) Gobble of Heron, MT, Denny (Joan) Gobble of Pocahontas, IL, Art (Laura) Gobble of Creve Coeur, IL, 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren, sisters: Bertha Pintar, Opal Brown, Maude Partridge, Lee Brown, and beloved friend: Beulah Brown of Dorchester, IL.

Mary was preceded in death by parents, spouse, infant son: Ronald Eugene Gobble, brother: Ralph Sawyer, sisters: Edna Geraci, Lois Oehler, Hazel Bruhn, Dorothy Mansholt, and Delores Adler.

Friends may call on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Dorchester Methodist Church, Dorchester, IL from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

The funeral will take place Friday, October 28, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Dorchester Methodist Church, Dorchester, IL. The service will be ministered by Pastor Richard Gobble and memorials can be made to Dorchester Methodist Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Donor’s Choice.
