US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1876, opened a law practice in Texas and was prosecuting attorney of Van Zandt County, 1882 to 1884. In 1910, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-first Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of J. Gordon Russell and served until 1911. He declined to be a candidate for re-nomination and served as judge of Van Zandt County, Texas until his death.
