She was born July 20, 1934 in Waverly and raised in Folkston to the late Peter Samuel Spradley and Cora Leslie Cooper Spradley. Mrs. Linton formerly worked as bookkeeper in the family business, Jamestown Cabinets. She was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church and the Golden Age Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, singing and listening to gospel music, and bird watching. Affectionately known as "Mema" by everyone, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Campbell; and siblings, Coraine Spradley Haynes, Gladys McMillan, Nancy Shefield, Oscar Spradley, J.D. Spradley, Lee Spradley, Harold Spradley, Joe Spradley and Edward Spradley.
Survivors include husband of 74 years, William Eddie Linton of Waycross; three children, Gary Linton (Kelly) of Blackshear, Joni Boyett (Hilton) of Blackshear, and Kathy Durrance (Mike) of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (December 2, 2023) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
