Mrs Mercy Hudson, wife of the late Mr James Hudson, of Balaklava died at the residence of her daughter (Mrs M. A. Ratlew) on October 1, at the age of 94. The deceased, who was an old and respected resident of the district, was born on October 9, 1828, at Norfolk Plains, Tasmania, and came to South Australia in the sailing ship Black Joke , arriving in September 1838. Mrs Hudson left one daughter Mrs M. A. Ratlew of Balaklava), and two sons, Messrs A. Hudson (Port Pirie), and S. M. Hudson (Broken Hill), and a large number of grand and great grandchildren.
