She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Alice Jacks Campbell; father, W.L. "Onnie" Campbell, Sr.; sister Lessie Frances Campbell Johnson and brother, W. L. Campbell, Jr.
She was a lifelong resident of Newton. She finished high school in Newton, attended Lon Morris Junior College, Jacksonville, Texas and received a Masters Degree from Sam Houston State Teachers College in Huntsville.
Faye was a dedicated teacher and taught for forty years in schools that are now a part of the Newton Independent School District, retiring in 1983. Most of those years were spent teaching Speech and English at Newton High school. She especially enjoyed the university Interscholastic League competition in drama, reading and speaking events.
Faye remained active in her community and in church activities. She helped start the United Christian Help Center for the distribution of food and clothing to the needy of the area, and she worked there regularly every week.
She was survived by her special friends Golda and A. W. Davis; godchildren; Tama Shofner, Thomas N. Davis and Kay Haiduk, Karl Campbell Davis and Elizabeth Rathburn Miller; sister-in-law, Norma Campbell, niece, Beth McGown; nephews, Lee Campbell and John Campbell, Allen Johnson and Paul Johnson.
