He married Lucinda L Ovitt in 1837 in Warren County, NY, and by 1850 they had moved to the Town of Horicon... still in Warren County.
By then, the family had expanded, with the births of Allen, Joel L, Rachel Ann, Sarah Jane, George Sanford and Henry Brooks. Another daughter, Mary Estella, was born in 1852... this time at Indian Lake in Hamilton county... so at some point between 1850 and 1852, the Brooks family had arrived in Indian Lake.
Aaron Brooks died before 1855 (by then his wife was widowed, and by 1857 Lucinda had remarried... having the 1st of three children with her 2nd husband in 1858). Through family albums, knowing that Aaron died at Indian Lake, his death is believed to have been in 1854.
I found a broken stone for Aaron Brooks at Cedar River Cemetery in 1980, but the stone had broken where the dates were carved. (At that time, I transcribed a number of family stones but did not have a camera to take pictures.) On later trips, I could not locate the stone.
