Harold Holmes, son of the late Raymond Holmes and Ruby Holmes, was born on January 19, 1931 in Sikeston, Missouri, Missouri and departed this life on September 4, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 89 years.

Mr. Holmes was a heavy equipment operator for Brown Construction in Dexter, Missouri. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served over a year in Korea during the Korean War. He and his wife attended the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid. He was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge #2439.

On October 22, 1949 he was united in marriage to Eileen Snider in Piggott, Arkansas. Mrs. Holmes survives of their home in Dexter.

Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Renee Channell and huband David of Dexter, Missouri; by one granddaughter, Shaunti Williams and her husband Roy of Dexter, Missouri and by three great-grandchildren, Tayton Williams, Addilyn Williams and Piper Williams.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond "Bud" Holmes and by one sister, Wanda Trammell.

A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
