Mrs. Virginia Bivens Gilbert, age 81, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was born June 27, 1939, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ernest Bivens and Pansy Carrington Bivens.

Virginia was of the Christian faith and she was a factory worker. She enjoyed being outside with her animals, shopping and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Debbie Henderson (Shorty) of Tollesboro, Kentucky, and Cheryl Robersion of Burtonville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Jessica Howard and Mitch Lewis; one great grandson, Carson Howard; and one brother, Max Bivens of South Portsmouth, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Cannan Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky, with Brother Bryan Williams officiating. Tollesboro Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Tollesboro, Kentucky, is caring for all arrangements for Mrs. Virginia Gilbert.
