MARGARET DORENE ANDRUS passed from this life Tuesday, August 24, 2004, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She was born July 1, 1933, to Posey Brooks and Bertha Ann Webb, east of Addington, Oklahoma.
Margaret and Marion D. Crutcher were married June 17, 1950, in Waurika, Oklahoma. During their 28 years of marriage, the couple raised five children in Stephens and Jefferson counties of Oklahoma.
Margaret and James V. Andrus were united in marriage on June 10, 1983, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Mrs. Andrus was a homemaker and will be lovingly remembered for her handmade quilts, homemade jellies and jams. She loved gardening and canning fresh vegetables.
Mrs. Andrus was a two-time cancer survivor, being the first in medical history to receive multiple cobalt treatments, after which she gave birth to her fifth child, Kenny, the miracle baby.
Mrs. Andrus was a Christian, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, affectionally known as Nanny.
Survivors include her mother, Bertha Webb; her husband, Jim Andrus; two sons, Rick and Kathy Crutcher of Marlow, Okla., and Kenny and Kristie Crutcher of Verden, Okla.; three daughters, Barbara and Mike Crow of Marlow, Sue and Tom Armstrong of the United Arab Emirates, and Debra Gaylene and Lewis Sleeth of Petrolia, Texas; three brothers, Curtis Webb, Gene Webb, and Hubert Webb; two sisters, Wynema Pruitt and Lola Pinson; three step-daughters, Pam and John Poulos of Snellville, Ga., Stephanie and Tim O'Hara of Wichita Falls, and Cameron Andrus of Granbury, Texas; 19 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Posey Webb.
Funeral services for Mrs. Andrus were at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, at Addington Baptist Church, with Mike Bernhardt and Aaron Summers officiating. Burial was in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
