Born in New Brunswick, Canada on February 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bridget Gallen, one of twelve children raised on her family's farm. Married in 1952, the Chapmans made their home in Ipswich - first on Woods Lane and later on Kimball Avenue. For many years she helped her husband with his popular television and radio repair business, Chapman's Radio Shop.
She was a longtime member of the Ascension Memorial Church in Ipswich as well as the John T. Heard Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved walking on the beach, picking berries and gardening. Cynthia also loved to travel and had saved all the postcards to prove it. She was an avid downhill skier and so enjoyed her annual family reunions at Old Orchard Beach. Her kindness and witty sense of humor could brighten any room.
She was predeceased by six brothers and four sisters.
