Rev. James Madison Barton died at Conway, last Friday, in his 67th year. Mr. Barton was born in Pendleton district, S. C, February 28, 1822. In 1843 he was elected as a member of the South Carolina legislature, and during that time was converted, and joined the M. E. church. In 1844 be moved to Mississippi and entered the ministry. He came to Florida In December, 1880, but only preached as a local minister In this state (FL).
