Alice Gaudet Marceaux
August 21, 1932 - September 3, 2016

Alice G. Marceaux, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Bayou L'Ourse passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 84.

Alice worked in the restaurant industry, specifically fresh seafood served at restaurants like Chez' Marceaux Seafood which she owned and where she did everything from cooking to serving. Being in the restaurant business, Alice's favorite was boiled crabs that she didn't have to cook or provide, just eat. Alice was known for sharing stories of herself and her mother running crab traps in her younger years. A woman with a green thumb, Alice was able to coax many different types of plants to life though her African Violets were always her favorite. Of all the hobbies and loves in Alice's life, she especially enjoyed holidays and weekend get-togethers with her family. Alice will be sadly missed by her beloved family.

Alice leaves to cherish her memory her children, Harley Marceaux and his wife, Peggy, Judy Fuselier and her husband, Edwin "Tootie", Larry Marceaux, Gary Marceaux Sr. and his wife, Mary, and JoAnn King and her husband, Joel Jr.; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and five sisters and one brother.

She joined in heaven her husband, Iry Marceaux Sr.; her parents, Alcide and Loura Aucoin Gaudet; one daughter, Brenda Verrett; one son, Iry Marceaux Jr.; two grandsons, one sister, and one brother.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 6pm until 9pm and again on Wednesday, September 7th from 9am until time of services at 11am at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Following services, Alice will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew's Catholic Church Cemetery in Amelia.
