Phillip was drafted into the US Army in March 1943. He proudly served in the 77th Infantry Division - Statue of Liberty Unit during WWII in the Pacific Theater, until January 1946.
Phillip worked as an Ornamental Ironworker and was a 60 year member of Ornamental Ironworker's Local 63. Later in life he worked as a custodian for the Grayslake School District.
