Bob was born August. 2, 1932 in Petersburg,IN to Edward Huffman and Sarah Frentress. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He was awarded a Korean Service Medal and Three Bronze Stars. Robert retired from the military and from Crane in 1989. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Washington VFW, Shriners of Evansville, Washington Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites and Washington American Legion. Robert enjoyed watching and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Bob is survived by his wife Evelyn (Nicholson) Huffmon who he married December 2, 1981; son Todd (Jessica) Huffmon of Odon; daughter Sheila (Steve) Menahhofer of Indianapolis; step sons, Marshall Ray Riggins of Pennsylvania and Michael Lee Riggins of Washington; two step daughters, Bonita Hartley of Washington and Donnettia Merchley of Jasper; sister Judy (Art) Wheatley of Indianapolis; five grandchildren Alisha, Trevor, Shayleigh, Lily and Parke; Three great-grandchildren; Nephew Jerry Huffman of Evansville,IN and niece Nancy (Tom) Miley of Petersburg,IN.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Mary Huffman; grandson, Ryan Cain; Brothers; Roscoe Huffman, Arthur Huffman and Lowell Huffman. Sister Thelma Lee (Huffman) Melvin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Masonic Memorial Service at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, at 11:00 am, September 2, 2020 at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel with Pastor Steve Sims officiating, with burial following in Sugarland Memory Gardens with Military graveside rights by the Washington American Legion and VFW.
