She is survived by her brother, Fred, Buhrer; her children: Spring Robin (Ken) Parsons, Jeanice (Robert) Ames, Suzanna (Myron) Guy, Hans Lykins, Gerry (Anne) Lykins, and Jana (Kirk) Kleinhenz; and 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Viola Buhrer; son, Christopher Jon; and husbands, Chester G. Lykins and Max I. McDonald.
Mom was a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived her life in the service of others, both family, neighbors and friends. Whether it was fixing meals for others, taking care of the sick, or sewing clothes or items for Humanitarian Aid, what a great example she was for us.
Talent just oozed from every pore. She was an expert seamstress and quilter. Mom also crocheted, embroidered, and enjoyed writing poetry. She made many wedding cakes that tasted heavenly. Artistry was in her blood, from flower arranging to oil painting. Gardening, canning and genealogy were passions for her. If she could see it, she could do it.
Mom was born and raised in Southern Mississippi. Her father was from Switzerland; her mother was part Cree Indian. She raised her family in Indiana, later moving to Utah, with Christopher. Love found her again, when Max re-entered her life; thus starting the best two years of her life. Unfortunately, Max passed on.
Mom will forever be in our hearts and memories. God be with you until we meet again.
