James Johnny Bowling was born July 28, 1952 in London, Kentucky, the son of the late Esom and Mary Vandy Bowling. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Roberts; his two children Melissa Smith and husband J.C. of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and Jamie Lynn Bowling of London; siblings Ruby Philpot and husband George, Wayne Bowling and wife Flo, and Danny Bowling and wife Carol all of London; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings: Lela Mae Philpot, A.J. Bowling, Junior Bowling, and Tommie Jean Hubbard. He was a retired employee of Jasper Iron and Metal and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services for James Johnny Bowling will be conducted Monday at 1 pm in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Benge officiating. Burial will follow in the Buttery Cemetery in London. The family of James Johnny Bowling will receive friends after 12 noon Monday until the funeral hour of 1 pm.
