He was preceded in death by his mother Esther, father Carl, and brother Gary. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, brother Roger (wife Renee), three daughters, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In recognition of his US Air Force service, Arlin was laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery near Dixon, Solano County, California.
